ac3 pass-thru

ok, i've read the faq's and i've installed and registered the mpgaudio.ax and iviaudio.ax and MMSwitch.ax the files found in doom's audio filters pack.

At this point, i'm looking to pass-thru just the demux'd *.ac3 file from my dvds to my external DD decoder.

As I said, i'm pretty sure i've installed the correct files, but WMP6.4 crashes when I try to load a .ac3. Sasami2k on the other hand is able to play the .ac3 file albeit with a studer, but the light on my external decoder doesn't come on like it does when I play the dvd in my ATI dvd player (with the audio being passed thru).

Do I have something miscofigured?

Try to use 'wave out' instead of 'direct sound'. You can find that in the AVI with AC3 guide on doom9's site. If that doesn't help search the forum for hints to your specific configuration as digital out is a serious trouble maker.

EDIT:

try to get a newer iviaudio.ax filter maybe. The one from the filter pack is just a trial version. So a new full version of WinDVD with the appropiate filter may be helpful as well.
