It seems in the past week or so a lot of advances have been made in the Splitting DVD area, well I personall just bought a few new double sided DVD-Rs to try the method but I noticed the guides are a little behind in this area. I was curious if anyone has a new guide written or if there is just one in the process now. Doom9's guide seems pretty good but I feel as if some new advances have been made. If anyone has a new guide or a basic outline of some new methods that would be great. Thanks.

Speaking of a LITTLE behind, this guide uses ReMPEG2. Not that I know for sure, but I'm willing to bet this guide was possibly influenced by Derrow and MPUcoder's site. Just a thought.

OK guys, there's no need to re-invent the wheel...
This guide gives you 3 choices: copy the whole movie without menu structure, split the movie onto 2 DVD-R if the mpeg is huge, or ReMPEG the movie if it's a little bit too long. I never use compressions below 75%, otherwise you can see the compression (on a 110" screen).
Choice 1: time to complete: ripping, getting rid of unused languages and subs, writing: 1h40min. (on DVD-RW @ 1x)
Choice 2: time to complete: ripping, getting rid of unused languages and subs, splitting onto 2 discs, writing: 2h50min.
Choice 3: time to complete: ripping, getting rid of unused languages and subs, ReMpegging, writing: 8 to 15 hours, depending on movie length and cpu speed of course.
Previously I was ripping movies and then ReMpeg or CCE the stream and then ripping subs and then converting subs and then putting all the pieces together with Scenarist and then verifying if everything is OK and in sync....pfffffffffhhhhhhhhhhhhhhwwwwwwwwwww.
Viva IfoEdit !!!

If you have shorter and/or faster instructions, please let me know!

@skoal: just to make sure I'm getting this right.. the new version as I have seen it no longer requires the 3rd step (adjusting the number of chapters, change entry points for the 2nd disc).. is that the only change or am I missing something (I just tried one disc so far).
