First of all, humble apologies if this post belongs to some other forum, since it is not strictly related to dvd2svcd. I noticed that when I rewind my svcd in my stand-alone Pioneer DV-535, when I reach the beginning of a chapter, it stops there and starts to play automatically from there. Example: I'm viewing somewhere in the middle of chapter 6 and I want to go back to a scene in, let's say, chapter 4. If I start rewinding, as soon as I reach the beginning of chapter 6, I can't go further back to chapter 5.

All other navigation works like a charm: I can select chapters with the numeric buttons, I can go to prev/next chapters, I can forward to whatever position I want. Images created with VCDXBuild, DVD chapters PBC style is "PBC use selections", images burnt with Daemon Tools mount/Nero as described in the faq.

Any idea?

that's the way my pioneer 434 works too. It's just how pioneer designed them. When you reach beginning of chapter 4...just hit prev to get to chapter three and then fast forward from there. I know it sucks but it's duable.

Thanx for the quick reply. Have you tried whether perhaps some other selection from the dv2svcd "DVD chapters PBC style" drop-down list might help? I know I should test by myself, but I have the feeling that you have already tried...

I am prety sure that nothing is going to work. SVCD chapters are made differently then DVD chapters. Pioneer DVD players just wont recognize them correctly. :(
