Hi Derrow,
Just a heads up about a potential bug in 0.932. I sent you the IFO files in email.
I split a disk that has two PGC's. The result comes up with more chapters in PGC1 than were in the original un-split IFO files.

I think I'm going to lose my mind! This DVD I'm trying to back up is really pissed me off.
I think the IFO files are messed up on the original.
I did a straight rip and the result is bad.
When I play the movie in PowerDVD XP 4 it does the following.
As I cycle through chapters (hitting the next button) it skips chapter 19 and goes to chapter 30, but then if I hit next it goes to chapter 20..what the hell??
Derrow, I sent you the IFO files, can you look at them and see if there's something weird about them?

Derrow is away on business for a week or so. It sounds to me like you have a movie with non-seamless branching in it, and it has (at least) 2 alternate versions of chapter 20.
BTW - everybody - the next and previous buttons DO NOT cycle through the chapters. They move forward or backward through the PROGRAMS. Usually this is the same thing, but not necessarily. A chapter can have more than one program (and a program can have more than one cell). AND the navigation features of the Virtual Machine are not restricted to menues (e.g. the White Rabbit in The Matrix). Once into an ILVU the pointers within the NAV pack (there are 2 sets, one for seamless, the other for "non-seamless") guide the playback.
So, in summary, it is possible to have a program in a PGC which is skipped during normal playback because it is interleaved with the program which does play.

i just tried using .932 for the first time last night on a simple movie < 4.3gig.
simple rip, strip, burn.
now, the chapters are all messed up...starts at chap 9, then the warner logo appears in the last chapter.
nothing special about this disc...Donnie Darko.

Well, then, maybe there is a problem (and my long explanation of non-seamless branching was not needed). But, "The Boss" is away for now. Try using an older version to verify the problem.

Mpucoder,
I think you're right! I looked at the original IFO file and each chapter has two PGC's. so derrow's program creates a chapter for each PGC so the end result is twice as many PGC's.
