Hi,

I did that movie already. It is a little tricky since there is a pretty long trailer in the main movie vts. When you strip that and all but one audio it will barely fit onto one dvd-r.

I have tried ripping this with IFOEdit and I can only get it to fit onto 2 DVDR's, can you please describe how you managed to get it to fit onto 1 DVDR.

open the main movies vts_1 vob file in vobedit.
demux by cell_id into another folder.
drop each demuxed vob into dvd2avi to check it's contents.
delete the vobs that have "intro" or "logo" scenes.
open the first remaining vob file in vobedit and remux back into your original directory.

I reencoded the main movie VTS set, put it back together in Scenarist and it works like a charm. Just follow the IfoEdit/CCE guide and you'll get there.. the procedure is really similar.

ehm, sure that all may work but for me that sounds way too complicated.

What I do is find out what is in the various vob-ids by using vobrator. You just have to open the vobs of the main movie title set and click on the displayed ID and play to see what´s in. Find the trailers´ ID (I think it's 2 but can't remember - there might be an additional music video in another ID that you must strip out as well).
Then in Ifoedit open the corresponding .ifo and hit vob-extras. Mark strip streams and vob-ids and create video_ts.ifo - this will leave you with a working movie with full quality, navigation and playback compatibility but without any extras and menus. I left the German 5.1-audio in and ended up with 4,2 GB.

Thx for all the reply's, all I am trying to do is backup onto 1 DVD-R with just the movie with no menus etc, I have been able to acomplish this "I THINK" by doing the following:-

1.RIP just the "movie" with smartripper (ANGLE 1), 4.71Gb total.
2.Using IFOEdit on this RIP and strip out the extra subtitles and sounds apart from 6ch/ENG subtitle. I then end up with 4 1Gb VOBS and all associated IFO files.

I have written this to DVD-RW and am about to test on a standalone player, I have skipped through all the chapters on my PC but have not seen any trailer, I don't know if I am skipping past it thou, maybe by RIPPING with smartripper it has some how removed this phantom trailer automatically, I shall let you know when I come to watch the film from start to finish, on the face of it looks as thou it has been removed by it self?

Anybody else have any answer to why this has happened? (MAYBE)

As I suspected Smartripper and IFOedit seems to have done the trick, thanks to everyone here for there advice!
