Insert LOGO without recompress

HI,
how to insert a logo into a DivX 5 Avi with VirtualDub WITHOUT again recompress (what means lowering the quality and wait a few hours) the whole avi file.

I assume the answer has something to do with the methods VirtualDub is working (Direct stream copy is one of those "methods")

No, there's no way to do that. Really. MPEG-4 spec may contain some layering system that would some day make it possible but still no-no.

what settings must I make in Virtual Dub (I understand it needs a recompress) not to loose a lot of quality ?
And what about those methods available (like direct stream copy) is there realy now chance ?

no chance , really really ;)
direct stream copy does not allow ANY change in the video data.
