hi there i`ve looked for an solution on here but can`t find 1,please if you can help me out.
i`m trying to watch films i downloaded in WMPlayer,but it keeps saying it`s the wrong format?
what do i have to do to be able to watch them?

MMSYSTEM296,cannot be played on the WMPlayer,not in correct format.
please if any of you know the answer please let me know what to do so i can watch those films,they are in avi format but i can`t watch them.

Download nandub from the software section, load the avi and then select file - properties. This will show you what codec was used for the video and audio. You will then have to get those codecs to be able to watch the avi.

Nandub may give you some information, but it's an encoder for DivX 3.11 Alpha, and may be more than you need just to determine the codecs used in an .avi file.

You might try Gspot instead:

"Gspot 1.1 - identifies audio and video codecs in AVIs, displays length, audio and video bitrate"

@Jggimi - Thanks, I normally use nandub to see avi information and yes it does have its limitations. I'll try gspot out. Learn something new everyday. Thats what I like about this place.
