DVD not splitting correctly

When I split the DVD, the episodes menu didn't work correctly. I used Infoedit v0.932 to split it on Ch 08(see jpg) which puts episodes 1-4 on the first disk and 5-8 on the second. The first DVD didn't work correctly but I was able to replace the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VTS_01_0.IFO with the original that was on the DVD and it worked fine but with the second DVD it didn't work doing that. The chapters menu didn't work correctly and would start way too late, with the last two episodes starting in the same place. The DVDs also wouldn't skip to the right place's either. When I split the first DVD it had chapters 1-3 instead of 1-8 like it should and the second DVD had chapters 1, 9-13 instead of 9-17. What am I doing wrong? I also tried striping vob ids to split it, but the menus would just freeze when I clicked on them. I don't know what to do I feel like I have tried everything any help would be appreciated.

I have also tried splitting it with smart ripper, but the menus would just freeze when I clicked on them.

Just remember you must copy these files over to the split folders from your original full rip.

(These files are from the full rip of the DVD)

VIDEO_TS.ifo
VIDEO_TS.bup
VTS_01_0.vob

Copy these 3 files to Disc 1 and Disc 2 and it should work.

Is this the first time you've split a DVD? Did you follow derrow's guides?

You shouldn't have to copy the vts_1.ifo file over...in fact you shouldn't since derrow generates a new one with the proper info.

can you put on your web page the IFO files that were generated?

the original vts_1 ifo and the generated one in disk 1 and the generated one in disk 2?

then derrow can take a look at it, or i can look at it too just to see if there's something obvious

No, this isn't the first time I split a DVD. Yes, I did follow derrow's guides.

The only reason I did copy it over was because I couldn't get the new one generated to work and wanted to try something. It did work to copy over the vts_1.ifo file over for the first disk, but the second didn't.

I just looked at your Ifos, and I can't fifure out what you did. There are 17 chapters in your original, but only 3 chapters in your first disc and 6 chapters in the second disc. You have a lot of stuff missing. Did you strip out Vob IDs at the same time as you split it? I would take the original rip and try splitting it again, making sure that you use the defaults when you split it, and make sure that the destination directories are empty before you begin. The only other thing I can think of off hand is that you did not have enough free space on the drive before you split it.

That is what I am talking about in my first post that only 3 chapters show up on my first disk and 6 chapters on the second. I didn't strip out Vob IDs at all and I already tried splitting it again and it came up with the same problem. There was enough free space because I could play the whole movie, just wouldn't do it correctly.

I don't think anyone has it but it's called Love Hina, an anime. It has episodes 1-8 on the first DVD-9, which I am trying to split 1-4 on one disk and 5-8 on the other.

Anyone know what might be causing this? I have tried splitting it multiple times now and I have got the same result.
