using smart ripper set to movie, make a VOB for every chapter. After they're on the HD i use infoedit to make new ifo files. Then i correct the VTS sectors. When i use the built in player I'm getting more chapters then exist, and it won't play after say chapter 12 out of 28. using this method i successfully ripped six programs now it's not working. any clues?

I have no idea if this is the answer, but I would try making a new file per vob file, instead of per chapter. That might fix your problem. Also - are you stream processing? I've seen that mix it up on different titles, and work fine on others. It's too bad this isn't an exact science. (Or maybe it's too exact and I just suck)
