Divx in Adobe Premiere

Hey All,
Yes I have searched the Forum already for this, but couldn't find an answer.

I am trying to reincode a DV .avi file into Divx using Adobe Premiere 6.5 since that was where the file was initially made.

It actually turns out great, but one problem. SOME of the video clips in the video end up being interlaced ( at least I think that is what it is, horizontal lines accross the screen) some clips turn out fine for some reason, and the stills turn out excellent. In the original DV .avi everything looks fine on playback, but as soon as I reincode it, to Divx I get interlacing.

I am going to try going to Mpeg2 first and see how that turns out.

if the original source was interlaced, then the encode will be as well. you can only notice it on your monitor when there is fast action. you'll need to run a deinterlace filter on it (not the Premiere one).
for the best encodes, download the Premiere frameserever plug-in from www.videotools.net . this will turn your project into an .avs file that can be encoded with a real encoder, such as VirtualDub. Premiere's built-in filters are horrible and will leave you with back looking encodes. trust me, use the frameserver plug-in.

Thanks, I was thinking of trying to framserv it, and use VD, but haven't had the time to check it out.
