.m2v music video files

Ok here's a question:

I've grabbed several music videos off the net, all with the extension .m2v (yes they include normal svcd audio), I usually just add .mpg and they work fine in WMP, and also fine if I burn them as svcd (which they are resolutionwise, bitratewise, you name it) - playback is excellent in my Pioneer DV-444.

Now to the bad part - I want to put them on dvd-r (I know the procedure, have successfully put a couple of dvd2svcd encoded movies on disc, working 100% on the dvd standalone), but for some reason, although the 'procedure' works well (patching etc) these files refuse to play in the standalone, all I get is 2 frames of audio, the counter goes to 0:01 or 0:02 then playback stops, no video displayed at all. The vobs generated work fine in WinDVD. I am using DVD Maestro.

Anyone got a clue what is wrong with these files, and how I can (hopefully) fix it?

1. The audio must be resampled to 48kHz
2. the (H-)resolution of video should be reencoded to 720x or 352x
It is possible to playback the SVCD-MPEG2 on some DVD-Player without reencoding(patch the filehead of .mpg), but some (or most?) standalone cannot play it well. This was very detailed discussed in this forum sometimes ago. plz search the forum and get more info.

htc10825 please read my post - I said I know the procedure and that it works fine for all my svcds except these particular music video .m2v svcd files.

1. checking if the .m2v files need or NOT need to be patched.
wenn these are already in cvd res., no patch needed.
2. checking if you got diff. H.-res. on the same DVD-R
3. reencoding one of them to see what happens.
3. it is still possible that you play has something against "these particular music video .m2v svcd files"

- these files have the exact same specs as other files, read my 1st post

- reencoding is not an option (except for audio)

- no it's not a problem of diff H-res on files on one dvd, DVD Maestro doesn't allow that (as it shouldn't either since it conforms to dvd specs), and I've been trying mostly with only one file at a time.

- however I managed to get it working, re-transported one .m2v to a program stream with m-2 edit, demuxed with tmpgenc, went thru the whole patching, audio recoding etc and it worked mysteriously. A remux with bbMpeg to a new svcd program stream and then doing the exact same thing did not. I have no idea m-2 edit did to the file but as long as it works I'm happy.
