@all...

I hv d/l mi2 and True lies form Kazaa, both of them are of high res 702X***, but isee some marco blocks(looks horrible) in high motion senes. Now should i resize this to somethigh low as 640 or 512, will this reduce the marco block effect. Both the file are encoded by divx3,(used Gspot, says divx3, low motion), after cheching the resize filter and in compression window, should i check the low motion codec and set the new bit rate and encode or ???? help me iam getting confused here....

BTW is there any guide for rezsizing up/down after encoding and details on comression setting to do this.. Vdub is ok or Ndub is ok for resizing???

You will only gain more loss of quality by recompressing.

Fox Mulder is correct. The macroblocks are already encoded into the divx file. Even if you resize to a lower bitrate and use a extremely high bitrate, those blocks will still be there. If you think you must do this, about the only thing you can do is use a smoothing filter to try to blend those macroblocks in with whats adjacent to them. All in all, its best to just live with them.

Better try a good post-processing filter while watching the movie.

I find that the Divx 5.02 pro Divx filter is pretty good - using the film-effect and a higher post-processing level can reduce visible artefacts pretty much. Also, set your monitor to 800x600 or even 640x480 when watching the movies - I do that for all divx movies, even for good encodes
