Hi,

This might be a stupid question... but... Is it possible to take a shot movie (I have a short animation I created) that I want to play at DVD quality from an ordinary CD??? I want to make it compatible with all DVD players. I know about VideoCD, and Super VCD. But I really want DVD menus and stuff.

Any help would be great!

miniDVD/cDVD/DVDonCD(TM) work on aprox 1% of all standalone dvd players cause (quoting loosely from the dvd faq) "by the time a standalone gets to looking for a CD, its given up looking for DVD content"

the closest your going to get is SVCD (you would only be able to use SVCD bitrates on miniDVD anyway) or make a miniDVD, just almost everyone will have to watch it on their computers.

Each of the following links contains a little information on issues relevant to writing DVD content on CDRs, along with other general points. Perhaps (hopefully!) you'll find a sentence or two of useful info:
