Any Guide to Divx 5.02 to 3.11 Encoding ?

I'm just wondering if there are any guides available to encode a Divx 5.02 to 3.11 in Nandub?

Or do I just encode it using default settings, and just setting the Bitrate to match the one from the Divx 5.02 file? (Going to use 2 -Passes)

The divx 5.02 file is perfect as it is. (Doesn't need any filters or anything).

Or has this question been asked before? If so can anyone point me to it?

The reason for wanting to encode to 3.11 is because my system isin't powerful enough. (If I skip to any part of the file, the audio comes first then the video, causing Audio Sync. Unlike Divx 3.11 where audio waits for Video and then run at the same time)

You can read Doom9's Nandub guide for reference and for your settings. Re-encoding is of course possible, but remember it will inevitably result in quality-loss (even for your perfect Divx 5.02 file) ;).

I've seen this async occuring on low end systems only if AVI uses B Frames. DivX 5.02 without "pro" features runs fine like any DivX 3.11.

How about the vice-versa? I try to convert a DivX 3.11 file to DivX Pro 5 but it doesnt play.. I uncompress it in Vdub then encode it to DivX 5 and it still doesnt work. It's only an 8 sec clip that I need.
I'm clueless as to why it isn't working. :(

Probably because the DivX3 file contains VBR MP3 audio (which was muxed with Nandub). That kind of file is basically corrupted for further processing like re-encoding.
