Hi,

I have a DVD I created from home video tapes using Ulead's DVD Movie Factory. This DVD consists of several individual MPEG-2 files that MovieFactory converted to VOB files. I'm looking for a utility that will allow me to extract the original individiual MPEG-2 files from the current VOB files.

I've tried several VOB tools but none seem to do what I'm looking for. SmartRipper did allow me to extract the individual MPEG-2 files but MovieFactory was not able to recognize these files even after I renamed them with a '.mpg' extension.

Can anyone offer suggestions? Thanks.

Sumptor,

I dont' know if this will work, but have you tried ReMPEG2. Thsi can strip both video and audio (I think you will have to do it twice)

DVD Factory might then rceognise the 2 seperate files.

Failing that, I'm sure someone will suggest something like CCE and scenerist. Both these products are very good, but I don't have access to them.

Another source of information can be found at www.computervideo.net

They have a DVD section. I know someone there will have the answer to what you are looking for. There are quite a few DVD Movie Factory experts living there.

Vobedit is nice for that. demux by cells then demux video stream for every cells. You can also extract ac3 if needed

Use TMPG -> FILES -> MPEG TOOLS -> DEMUX. Load .VOBS and select the .M2V stream, then the audio stream (a two step process), THEN use the MULTIPLEX tool to remux the two into a .MPG file. Do this to all of your .VOBs, then use the MERGE/CUT option to merge them all together into one large .MPG file.

Then, do with it as you please.
