What is the .Lay file Maestro makes? Nero complains about this file, maybe PrimoDVD too, what is this file and will a DVDR play that has this file burned with it? Maestro puts this file right in the VIDEO_TS folder it makes

Maestro uses this file when making an image,if your not going to make one then just delete it.

Plus, when dragging your files over in Nero just leave that one behind.

the .lay file contains all the extra info for a DVD that doesnt get put into the vobs and ifo's, ie, css and macrovision info, volume name, among others.

spruce programs use the .lay file for creating disc images, and burning to disc and DLTtape.

the .lay file is not needed on the disc when burning with non-spruce programs.

Yes but will a DVD play if the lay file is included in the VIDEO_TS folder then burned to DVDR?

as long as the disc is burnt as DVD-Video with DVD-ROM content.

it plays fine with the lay file nothing refers to it so the dvd doesnt get messed up coz the dvd player really doesnt know that it is there (i think) mine plays fine and i didnt choose dvd-video with dvd-rom

nero or the burning program you used probably selected it for you.

the burning program must have seen the video_ts/audio_ts directories and organized the files so it was DVD Video compatible.
