2.04/2.03 vs 1.07

How does the 2.04/2.03 version compare to 1.07 (from videotools.net) in terms of speed, quality and file size?

Speed and quality of filters continue to improve, but the only core changes I'm aware of have been bugfixes. Filesize is significantly bigger in 2.04 thanks to the new audio code from VDub, but at ~300KB who cares? :D

Sorry. I think I wasn't very clear. When I said filesize, I meant output divx filesize no the actual dll.

What's the use of the audio filters? I convert AC3 files to .mp3 using besweet. I quite confused with these audio filters. What type of sound format does these filters use?

That's almost entirely dependent on your codec; we just spit out raw YUY2 or RGB. You can use Avisynth to reduce resolution, smooth more aggressively, etc., but those sorts of things are simply facts of life when it comes to video compression -- don't expect version-to-version changes.
