VCD + Audio CD on the same disc

Hi!

Does anybody know how to create a CD + VCD on the same disc, using the Blue Book aka stamped multisession aka enhanced CD format?

This is where the audio is the first session and data being the second session so that when you put it in your audio CD player, the audio starts at track 1 (there are no static tracks like regular multi-session cd's). And if you put it in your (S)VCD/DVD stand-alone player or your PC, the VCD session will start.

I have purchased a few CD's with this same format, being asian music CD's with a bonus VCD but was wondering how to do this myself? I use Nero and CDR-Win. Anybody know of any programs/methods to do this?

There is no knowing software for Windows can do that. People have done it with no-PC authoring tool(may be unix).

I have no idea which tools you should use, but if you really are up to making this kind of CD's, you could try something like this:

1. Burn an audio CD but don't close the disc.

2. Burn your VCD image as a new session.

One could do things like this with some really old burning programs. As a matter of fact, this was a recommended way to make something which was close to CD+ in the old Adaptec Ez-CD (or whatever it was called), but I don't know which tool you should try now.

You could also try ripping one of those CD's you mentioned with VCDEasy, and see what kind of XML file it makes - maybe you can use it as a template for future attempts, if the file makes any sense and the program regognizes the CD as a VCD at all.

I could probably find some of those old tools from my archives, but regrettably they don't support the CD-R(W) drives of today... :)
