View Full Version : Problems with VBR (2 pass) mode & DVDx

On W98, I'm using DVDx 2.0 -> Premiere Video Server -> CCE 2.62 SP (I tried also with 2.50 SP, 2.64 SP, 2.62 lite and TMPEnc) in according with the suggestions of doom9 site (DVDx guide using CCE, TMPEnc).

When I try to encode in CBR mode, it's all good and fine: all works,
speed is high (with CCE), the result is very good.

When I try to encode in VBR mode (2 pass), all works, speed is high
(with CCE), BUT the result is wrong: if i try to view the encoded file I listen audio, but the video is stopped at the first frame.
I obtain the same wrong type of file whatever encoder I use (CCE,
LIGOS, TMPEnc) if I ask to DVDx to work with the external encoder in VBR mode.
I use for viewing the encoded file PowerDVD, Win DVD, STHSVCD, Real
Player, my TV (after burning with Nero): so, the problem is not on
the viewer.

Did anyone has experience on that? Can explain me? I'm wrong in some
setting? I used exactly the suggested setting in Doom9 site for DVDx,
Premiere Video Server, and the Encoder (CCE, TMPEnc).

The strange is that, in CBR, all is good; in VBR, no error during the
process, BUT the result is wrong.

Many thx for the answer. regards
