Formats supported by DVX

are there any suggestions to support a new audio or video format? XviD and OGG's are supported already, it would not be very hard for me to support a new video or audio format, I can build in support for a new video codec in less 30 minutes

if you really have some spare time, how about supporting mpeg1/2 (i.e. vcd/svcd/dvd) streams? ;)

I don't think I can do this without having any basic knowledge, what freeware programs do I need for this? I know tmpeg and cce are popular, but as far as I know they are not free

TMPGEnc is free for mpeg1 and has 30 days trial for mpeg2. If going completely free, then there is bbmpeg licended under gpl. If you need decoding then I would suggest Videolan ( http://www.videolan.net ) which is also gpl.

hey, your DVX won't run on my machine, i have VS.NET installed and I get a System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException exception when running your program.

I did do that, I got version 223 and copied updated 224 files to that folder and I kept getting the following error "Profiles created with old DVX versions are not supported from this version"

so I commented out line 2804 in FormMain.vb and got it to start for the first time for me.

Ok, so I played with and couldn't accomplish anything. Is it supposed to work kinda like gknot? It crashes everytime I try pushing one of the four buttons in general.

DVX loads the profile DVD.dvx on program startup, the profile DVD.dvx shipped with 2.24 was created with 2.24, so you did not copy all files from update to full version, I have tested this

this is what happened after loading a d2v file and pushing the crop button. could you send me an updated project and see if I can get it working? I still haven't got it working yet. I'll try the 223 by itself.

of your vob's, what's the path of your d2v

um, the program started fine but then I upgraded (without testing) to 224. After upgrade i get the same error at startup: "Profiles created with old DVX versions are not supported from this version"
