Getting the Most out of CCE--Framrate issues

Following the above guide will ALWAYS encode my m2v at 24 fps (PAL) and forcing me to convert it to 29 fps (NTSC) using Pulldown.exe--so esentially even though it's getting converted I am losing frames. This is very noticeable during fast action scenes where character movement is somewhat choppy. Isn't there a way to just encode at 29 fps from the very beginning. I'm not sure if this would require an adjustment in DVD2AVI (I assume it would) or in CCE. If anyone knows of a fix, please post it. I love the visual quality of CCE, but lets face it, if my movies are going to be choppy I'll just use ReMPEG2.

If you don't select 'forced film' in the dvd2avi video properties, then it will encode in the same frame rate that it originally was, but don't be to sure that that is your problem. I've done many a re-encodes useing this method, (converting to 24, and then pulddown to 30)and the only times I ran into problems of 'choppiness' were times when the movie was interlaced AND bottom field first...since CCE encodes top field first regardless of wether the box is checked or not, if the video is bottom first. than it will be choppy, in which case you should try reverseing the field order with pulldown.
