I don't know what is the problem. I'm trying to burn some cue/bin images and I get this error. I'm sure the problem is not with the writer (HP CD-Writer+ 8200 1.0f) because I always recorded such files with this program with no error. I tryed Fireburn too, but with no success (actually it never worked with me). I also tryed Nero to burn the images, but it refuses to write my 800mb file in a 700mb cd. The error message follows:

Error: 'START DAO RECORDING' command failed on device 1:0:0
Cuesheet was rejected by de CDROM recorder.

Anyone please can help me? I have 5 movies on my hd and i can't burn them!

thanks in advance,
jaypee.

You may want to check if the .cue has any time codes greater than 80 minutes (or perhaps 74, I don't recall exactly).

I believe I received this error using EasyVCD to create my bin/cue. To get around it I used the 'fireburner compatable bin/cue' option, which is now standard in the current version of EasyVCD. This uses a less detailed cue, but the resulting CDs are the same.

But, like I said, I'm not positive this is the same error.

hey wmansir,

this is the .cue-file i have:

FILE "CD_Image_File_CD1.bin" BINARY

FLAGS DCP
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
FLAGS DCP
INDEX 00 00:04:00
INDEX 01 00:06:00

I was generated by DVD2SVCD. Note that none of the indexes are above 74. I didn't have problems burning this images with cdrwin until i formatted my computer last week.
is there a way to convert this .cue to the less detailed from the one i have?

I ran a quick test, created both a detailed and simple .cue files. The .bin were identical (same checksum) so you should be able to change your .cue to the following, and give it a try:

FILE "CD_Image_File_CD1.bin" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
INDEX 00 00:04:00
INDEX 01 00:06:00

Also, checkout this thread: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13560&highlight=Cuesheet+was+rejected

The guy got the same error with a HP CD-Writer+ 9300. I didn't read the entire thread, but after a quick scan the consensus seemed to be it was a hardware issue, so you may be out of luck.

burn it with vcdeasy or load it into damon tools and use clone or simalar to copy it would be the easiest solution.
