[edit: sorry I can't get this thread to word wrap I've tried editing it no no avail]

I did a search for missing ifo but didn't get any good results. I'm sure this has been discused before but I can't seem to find a thread on it.

Any Way DVD2SVCD crashed at the last step (it was making the bin) I tried to do a crash recovery but I keeped getting the message "File not Found"

I didn't really feel like encoding for another 20hrs but I was willing to do it. Thats when I notced my IFO was missing. I still have all the VOB's.

What should I do? I don't have the DVD anymore. I still have most of the files. I wish I knew how to do the last step of making the bin where it crashed before.

Any way any advice would be helpfull.

I don't know if these will help any:

Although your lack of an IFO file doesn't really make much sense, DVD2SVCD doesn't use the IFO that late in the conversion process. It isn't used when creating the .bin file, so you may have more than 1 problem. Have you checked to ensure that all files used in the VCDXBuild command line exist where they should?

I would check if I knew how. Does this help:

Here's the command line that executes VCDXBuild:

Executing VCDXBuild. Commandline:
"C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\VCDImager\VCDXBuild.exe" --verbose --cue-file="D:\Storage\Maze\CD_Image_File_CD1.cue" --bin-file="D:\Storage\Maze\CD_Image_File_CD1.bin" "D:\Storage\Maze\VCDXBuild_Script_1.xml"

Ensure that all those files exist when VCDXBuild runs (except for the .cue and .bin which the program will create) - if you're missing the .xml file, you might get that error, or if you're missing the .exe program itself.

This is just a thought, it might not be the problem at all, but it won't hurt to ensure one way or the other.

Yes...Both C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\VCDImager\VCDXBuild.exe & D:\Storage\Maze\VCDXBuild_Script_1.xml do exsist.

Hi GtMustangJim,

I only once had a problem with a missing IFO file DVD2SVCD must have somehow deleted as I for sure didn't do it. But if you still have all the files and want to do a "Recover", DVD2SVCD just checks all the files if they are still there, so you just can copy a different IFO file and rename it according to the VOBs of your movie - that should do the trick.

Greetz,
Gerti

Thanks gerti67

Thats pretty much what I ended up doing. No sence crying over spilt milk. I just manualy imported the vob's and re-encoded.

Thanks for the reply =)

I, too, had this problem once--"the missing IFO". It was discussed in a previous thread.

You can recover with out reripping the vobs.

1) Misc Tab --> Recover --> load the the d2s file.

2) Conversion tab --> load the IFO file off of the DVD disc if you have it still

3) Go back to Misc Tab and hit "recover". If I remember correctly, the IFO file will reappear in you ripping directory.

@sandchar99

OK, Thanks for the tip :)

If it happens again I give it a try.
