I have gotten this error on 2 discs now (Shallow Hal and Resident Evil) I went through the the disc using the method in the Ifoedit guide (I've used it on several other discs with good success). Niether of these discs needed to be transcoded after stripping the lanuage units because they were small enough to fit on a DVD-5.

After burning them to DVD+RW disc using Nero I get the following error when I try to play them with PowerDVD:

A disc with an unsupported format in drive

Anybody have any idea what might have caused this?

Just ripped Resident Evil with menus and no transcoding with little or no problem. Took a couple tries to get it right though.

Did you rip the whole disc or just the movie?

I used dvddecrypter in file mode and ripped just the movie and menu files.

For burning I have used both the Video-DVD and DVD-ROM (UDF/ISO) options in Nero but I still get the Unsupported format error.

I can play the movie with no problems from my HD.

Thnx for the pointer p3 - this is the post I found the night before and I tried your burn with Nero to DVD-ROM(UDF/ISO) and still gotthe same error. That's why I'm so confused now, nothing seems to want to work. I've used the Ifoedit guide and burned with nero for movies that both did and didn't need transcoding and had good success but these 2 titles just don't want to cooperate.

I keep see ppl refering to Passi Primo as being more reliable than Nero but I haven't been able to find where I can get a copy of it to try. Anybody have a URL to it so I can but a copy?

Well, here is a strange one. I am still getting unsupported format errors with Resident Evil when I try to play to DVD on my computer with PowerDVD. Just on a wild idea I tried the same disc in my settop player and the sidc plays perfectly. Seems strange to me because I usually see the oppostie problem in posts (will play on comp but not on settop box).
