What is the best/quickest way to cut an .mpg file into two seperate files. I am trying to fit a ripped movie onto cd's.

sorry im not so sure (still a newbie) but I think it can be done with either nandub or virtualdub (if you already have it in the format you want avi, vcd, svcd) just make both the video and audio direct stream copies (goto video check direct stream copy, goto audio check direct stream copy) press home to choose the beginning of the selection you dont want and end to choose the end of it (remember the frame number) then press delete to delete those frames. now save it as a different name and do the same with the other half of the movie,

sorry i cant explain stuff that well but since you just posted this might help.

You can do it in TMPG (File -> MPEG Tools)

Divx (AVI) - use virtualdub or nandub if audio is vbr

VCD/SVCD - use mpeg tools in tmpge

Good luck!

Thanks Mac,

The file I am trying to chop is an AVI, so i will use virtualdub.
I appreciate your clearification.
