After making 7 coasters of the time machine using nero 5 5 9 0 with my pioneer i have just used prassi primo in udf mode - guess what - it now works fine and doesnt crash half way through! - bye bye nero!
Also some 'lesser brand dvd players won't play the disks mastered with nero but play the same dvd-r media when using prassi!
:D

that is really strange.
i've been using nero 5.5.x with my pioneer a03 for a while now without problems.
maybe there is something wrong with your ASPI drivers that doesn't affect prassi?

ok then you're probably choosing the wrong format then or wrong settings in NERO. I can't imagine why else mine works and yours doesn't work!!!
I've burned about 15 video DVD's using Nero 5.5.8.2
and they all play fine.
I can't imagine my NERO is different than yours.
just follow the guide on mpucoder's site for how to burn a dvd using NERO.
create a new compilation, choose DVD-ROM(UDF/ISO), turn off joliet extensions, and choose level 1 ISO (most compatible).
make sure UDF is version 1.02

Read the many posts about Nero 5.5.90 and the shite it produces. 5.5.82 has the reputation of being the last stable on for DVD. Search the forum for DVD Decryptor and you will read the long post of one guy who has burned for 3 years coasters and didn't know about it using Nero until he switch to a newer DVD player and none of his DVDs payed anymore.

You are right !!!
I had burned some DVD's using NERO and I can not play them in all of my DVD players. With Prassi I never have that compatibility problem. One of my DVD player always says "DISK ERROR".
I had tried all versions of NERO (since it can encode DVD's) and I had not found any one that works correctly ...

They'll probably play in the Pioneer too. All the DVD players you named are pretty good at playing just about anything. Try those things in a mediocre player and cross your fingers.
