TMPG and Win2000

I changed my operating system from Win98 to Win2000 and now I have problems with the sound after converting an AVI-file to a mpeg-file.
I use the codec 5.02, but tried already codec 3 with 4. Divx 3 had some problems during the installation.
- Is it possible to get a divx-version especially for Win2000?
- How can I get sound (it does not have to be TMPG)

What sound problems? No sound? Out of sync? Garbled? It helps if you give more specifics.

The generic sound fix is to open the AVI in VirtualDub. Go to the Audio menu and choose Full Processing Mode. Then go to the File menu and choose Save wav. This will save a raw wav file rather than mp3 audio, which may cause errors. When encoding in TMPGEnc, use the AVI file for the video but use the wav file for the audio.

I did it how you said, but now I have a 12sec gap (increasing during playing). I already tried it with the tmpg-gap, but no improvement:-(

Did you remember to choose "Full Processing Mode" for audio? Also, if you're changing the frame rate you'll need to timestretch the audio (usually with a good audio editor).

Anything else is beyond my knowledge, anyone else have any ideas?
