I am trying to transcode the movie "A walk to Remember". I used dvd decrypter to rip the dvd. This time I allowed stream processing (tried to save a step). I got rid of all except english 6 channel and english subtitles.
I now need to transcode the movie as it is still a bit too big. I made the CFFL file as I have before but it just goes to the screen where the .vinf is created and does nothing. Thinking that rempeg 2 was bad I unzipped it again and ran from there. Same thing. I then ran another cffl file for a differnt movie and it took right off. The movie plays fine from the hard drive using powerDvd 4 in dvd on hard drive mode. Could using stream processing have somehow damaged or made the vobs unusable to rempeg 2? when I checked what streams were present using ifo edit right after the rip it showed all still present. However, after i used ifoedit to strip streams again the file size was the same so I think they were already stripped form the rip.
thanks

Jerry,

I have yet to try DVD decrypter, (I know it's good) but I use Smartripper instead.

A crude suggestion, but why not give it a try ??

It seems there are a few movies that throw up "rip" problems, rather than try to understand why, just go round the problem. It won't take you long to find out.

As far as making the Rempeg *.vinf file have you tried Ifoedit to make it ? That's how I do it, and never had a problem. (I note you say you have made it before)

Hope that gives you somes ideas.

HomerJ :)
