I'm ripping Leon: The Professional which plays fine on my DVD player, but for some reason keeps freezing at 4% with SmartRipper. Is there another good ripper someone can recommend to me?

Try DVD Decryptor from http://www.dvddecrypter.com/

do you play the DVD a little bit before you start the rip process with SmartRipper ?
for gknot the DVD Decrypter is not the right choice,
use vStrip (if SmartRipper doesn`t work) with the help of Doom9`s guide and you can rip every DVD on this planet.

Hi-
DVD Decrypter is actually a pretty good program to use on those problem DVDs because it at least spits out an error message to help pinpoint the problem. And I haven't had any problems either when using it with GKnot.
Have you tried cleaning the DVD?

i always recommended not to use dvddecrypter because it did not offer ifo-parsing - not true any more.
dvddecrypter has always been a great ripper to copy a complete dvd to hd (i use it all the time because i watch most my dvds from hd). now ifo-parsing works fine as well!
and when it comes to handling bad or scratched dvds it is better than any other ripper! when all the others fail dvddecryter might still rip successfully. just press 'ignore error' a few times. usually you end up with vob that has on little picture error in one single frame that will not be visible in playback.
so - give dvddecrypter a try - it's great!
