Default or Standard?

Hello, what setting is better for the matrices? Default or MPEG standard? or does it depend on the movie I am encoding? I read somwhere that MPEG standard is better but I would have thought that the 'Default' is what the engineers at TMPEG think's is the better one

Depends on what movie you have and to which format and bitrate you are going to encode.

For low (svcd) bitrates use default (or better Andreas 78 matrix).
