Hi
New user, I have managed so far to copy two DVD to SVCD. The only problem is the files are too big and Nero rejects the burn as it wont fit. The bit I am confused about is the settings I have used match the type of media ie 74 or 80 min. So why does the software produce files bigger than 700MB? What else can I change to make sure the files fit? Or do I need different media.

Please help as I got so far on my own! only to be stuck here!!!

For the 100th time, when a CD-R is burned as VCD or SVCD, you can put:
740MB on a 74-min CD
800MB on a 80-min CD

The files must be VCD or SVCD compliant (multiplexed the right way). If they are not, they won't fit and they won't play on the DVD-Player.

Make sure you burn in Mode2. (S)VCDs are Mode2 CDs which can hold up to 800MB of video data on a standard 700MB CD. If you are not sure how to configure Nero, open the wizard in nero and select VCD or SVCD and you TV system (PAL or NTSC). Follow the wizard and 'Drag and Drop' the file you want to burn into Nero's file window or use the browser.
