I thought usually the Luminance-Range in DVDs should be 0-255 (when opened in avisynth via mpeg2dec - I know that this has to be re-encoded to a range 16-240 with the proper TMPG-settings).
Now I had a DVD, where the range is 16 ... ~192 ("The Grinch").
Is this common or am I something doing wrong?
And what could be the reason for not using the whole range (
