i tried to copy entrapment recently and couldn't get it to work. Is there something special about the European PAL version. I performed the following steps:

- removed spanish language and subtitle (vts_01)
- removed spanish menu (vts_01)
- removed vob-ids: 3 & 4 from vts_02

basically the movies plays in the following order:

1. warnings (video_ts)
2. logo (vts_02: vob-id1)
3. menu (vts_01)
3. main movie (vts_01 [vob-id: 1 & 2])

since the movie was still to large after removing spanish I used DVD2AVI to create a d2v project file. Then I created via IfoEdit a TMpgTemplate for vts_01_0.ifo. Next I converted the movie as described in the guide to an avaerage bitrate of 4300 kbits/s (that's around 75% of the original average bitrate). About 7h later I remuxed the whole thing with IfoEdit.

The Problem: Beginning with chapter 5 the picture becomes faster then the sound. It actually gets worst very fast. Beginning with chapter 7 there's a difference of about 2 seconds. So text and picture is no longer synchronize beginning with chapter 5.

I already search the forum for an answer but didn't find one. Does anyone here have a hint which might help me out with this one? I already tried it 3 times (~ 26h of convertation to a lower bitrate <g>)
Thanks!

As I expected it based on previous posts by others ReMpeg2 worked flawless. The question which raises here is why doesn't it work with TMpeg and actually why does it work up to chapter 5?

And another one I would be really interested in: ReMpeg2 created a movie with a lower average bitrate then TMpeg did (~ 0.75 Mbit/s lower) but the file size is still bigger then it was after TMpeg did it. What happed here?

Thanks. -tm

It seems that TMPG do not follow the GOP sequence when you import one.

I had the same trouble and check GOP structure. Totally different.

I recommand you try the CCE+Maestro+IfoUpdate method from Trilight, or using scenarist.
(and eventually ifoedit to strip some more unwanted)

faster, not so complicated once done one, except subs (more boring than complex).
