can anyone tell me whats the difference between the two cpu's. ive seen slot 1, and slot a on the net. but what is the difference between the two? any info is welcome....which is better, older, newer, purposes etc.

don't go for slot processors.. they're outdated.. the first PIIIs and Athlon processors used Slot1 / Slot A respectively. If you see a slot x mainboard it pretty much looks like there's another AGP slot on the mainboard (I trust you know how that one looks).. and the processor almost looks like an expansion card and is really huge. Starting a long time ago both copmanies have changed back from slots to sockets.. the more modern PIIIs and Celerons use Socket 370, and for AMD processors (Athlon, Duron, Athlon XP, Athlon MP) they use socket A.
