When I drag an *.mpg file made with DVD2SVCD (CCE 2.5sp) into the VCD Easy window using "perform mpeg compliant check", it gives me the message that a 480X480 is not a valid resolution for FILM. My source was a 4:3 NTSC telecine, which I postprocess IVTC using decomb's telecide and decimate. Is this a potential problem? How can my resulting mpg file be film? Is it because it is now at 24fps? I use the DVD2SVCD default 4:3 aspect ratio (no borders, encoded as 4:3).

Thanks in advance.

try using the pulldownencoded.mpv

shouldn't DVD2SVCD have applied the pulldown automatically? I checked the log and there was no pulldown. How do I make it do an automatic pulldown. Oh yeah, I'm doing a permanent subtitle. Would pulldown affect this in anyway?

Thanks.

Here's my log.

not sure...most NTSC dvds are Framerate: 23976 (FILM) so it applies pulldown to make it Framerate: 29970. Since yours was already 29970 it wouldn't need to apply it. I suppose the telecide (PAL) has something to do with your problems. Subtitles shouldn't matter I'd think.
