Does anybody know of a DVD-Rom drive that is Ram compatible, that WILL play back disks created on the DMR-E20? I know the Toshiba DVD-Ram recorder wil but was looking for a cheap Rom option I.E. Will the Toshiba SD-M1612?
Thanks.

Hello!
Reading DVD-RAM: the SDM-1612 does it very well for me. Inside my PC and also tested in standalone DVD-players like Sampo620, Mustek V300 and Cyberhome 528.
I take it for proofing my DVD projects using DVD-RAM before burning them to DVD-R.
The SDM-1612 works for 2.6G and 4.7G DVD-RAM media but only for "non-cardrigde" i.e. Type2 or Type4
Have tried a Hitachi GD7500 before which does the same job but is noisy and slow on media detection for 2.6GB media.

Cheers m8, i'd already taken a gamble on the SDM-1612 so i know this now works, also it does work if you take the ram out of the cartridge.
Thanks.
