Sorry if this appears twice.. I originally posted it in the wrong section.

I have read many guides about writing DVDs and am having some success.

However, I am a little confused as to whether you should create a Joliet file system or not.

The guide for Nero, specifically states that you need to deselect 'joliet'.

However, the guide for RecordNOW states that you need to create a UFD file system with Joliet.

Is it important? Is it possible that it will work either way?

Any info on this appreciated.

Joliet gives you basically long filename support, which isnt needed for DVD-Video content, DVD-ROM (or DVD-Video w/DVD-ROM) content that needs LFN support will require Joliet.

To conform to the DVD Spec you need to burn UDF with long file name support Mode 1 but without Joliet. (However it does'nt seem to matter as I have burnt using both ways but now stick to without)
Happy Ripping.
