When writing DVD, do I select Joliet or not?

I have downloaded and read many guides about writing DVDs and am having some success.

However, I am a little confused as to whether you should create a Joliet file system or not.

The guide for Nero, specifically states that you need to deselect 'joliet'.

However, the guide for RecordNOW states that you need to create a UFD file system with Joliet.

Is it important? Is it possible that it will work either way?

Any info on this appreciated.

I use Nero to burn DVD-R/RW and I leave joilet unchecked. I haven't tried it checked, so I don't know if it makes a difference or not.
