I have a Wharfedale 750S DVD player. It has always played VCD's perfectly so I decided to have a go at making SVCD's. I used DVD2SVCD and the output was perfect. I then burnt it onto a CD via Virtual Daemon and CloneCD... and there were 1 sec audio sync problems on my stand alone but played perfectly in my PC.

I read that sometimes the standalone has problems spinning the disc fast enough to read the complete bitstream so I then used DVD2SVCD to rip and encode one chapter of the movie and burnt that in the same way. Perfecto on my standalone! When I try the same thing with the whole movie though, it comes back with the same audio/video sync problems.

Can anyone suggest a workaround? I used 2 pass VBR on TMPGenc (cos CCE came back with some wierd error), I didn't downsample to 44.1 for either version...?

Cheers!

Yay - Solved it (after making several coasters - my new Toshiba DVD/CDRW player doesn't like CDRW's so had to burn onto CDR's)!

It seems that when I include a start picture with the SVCD, the audio and video are out of sync by a couple of seconds. If I don't include the start picture, then the SVCD's play perfectly.

Anyone have any idea's on why this might be???
