Hi,

I have ripped a whole DVD (Spy Game) on my HD. Now I want to extrat the video stream of the movie on the 16/9 format, but whatever the soft I use, I always get the 4/3 version (letterboxed).

When I open the IFO file in SmartRipper, it only see the stream as a 4/3 aspect ratio. If I open it in PowerDVD, it correctly switches to the widescreen format.

Any idéa ?

Thanks.

Thats probably the IFO telling the player how to play the file(s). Without the IFO, the player is basically clueless. Try playing the raw vob file form the DVD. I bet it too comes out in 4:3.
You'll probably need to rip all the files, and then play the ripped copy as if it were a real dvd disc....only running from your hdd.
The latest versions of WinDVD and PowerDVD let you do this.

That's what I figured out. Opening the IFO file with PowerDVD gives me a 16/9 format of the movie. Opening just the vob files gives me 4/3 format.
