Hello ^^
I haven't really had any problems with anime encoding in the past until i got the Shadow Skill Australian PAL DVD. Its anime, 25fps..and quite often between a scene change or during some sort of fight scene i get a "Ghost" looking image, it looks damn ugly and i want to get rid of it ;)
I tried reading many articles, but nothing seemed to get rid of it, i tried Telecine, and it looked a "Little" better, but not a huge improvement.

So check the attachment, see if you can give me a hand ^^
hehe

thankyou!

Let me guess, It's a Madman distributed DVD, right?? I got some of those too. The ghosthing u experience is caused by bad Telecining done by those who converted the source from it's original NTSC source to PAL. They used a fast & cheap way to do it, causing that ghosting effect u see, it's already there in the DVD. U won't be able to telecine/deinterlace it perfectly anymore, only with heavy smoothing will u be able to remove lot of the ghosting, but that will probably kill the detail too!!

Madman or not Madman, this has nothing to do with telecining, this is the crappiest method to convert 24fps to 25fps using Blends + Interlacing.
And the answer is: you gotta live with it! you won't ever get rid of this, whatever you do, no matter how long you process it, it will always look like shit!

And I wanna use the opportunity to damn the fucking assault that invented that type of conversion and the fucking assaults that are widely using it in PAL countries!
