can i calculate ogg overhead: for video, for audio (ac3, ogm) ?

hi,

use the search function, there are already a topic like this.
if i remember the ogg overhead was apraximatively 0.3 % of the avi overhead.

There's allways a excat amthematical formula,.. it's just a question finding it ;)

It seems after everything is muxed together into the ogm container it adds about 0.007% to whatever all the files are initially totaled to be before the mux. So to figure out the ogg overhead it would be:

AudioStreamSize+VideoStreamSize+SubTitleSize=TotalSize

FinalOGMSize=TotalSize*1.007

I may be wrong (I've only tested this with two files, it's worth a shot I guess) Run a couple of tests yourself and see what you come up with.

As suggested, use the search function.

Ingoralfblum himself made up some mathematical wonders and this explains the discrepancy in the results people get ;)
