this has got me freaked out, I just built a DVD in Maestro. The DVD has two short movies on it. I have a background image with two buttons one for each movie. The DVD works just like it should, the menu is the first play item. But, when the DVD fires up and the menu loads, the audio track from one of the movies starts playing while the menu is up. I don't want one of the movies audio tracks playing while the menu is sitting there. I can't figure out what is causing this, anyone have any ideas?

Did you put a soundtrack for the menu ?

Perhaps Maestro want an audio track if there is a video for menu or it use the first audio stream it find.

I never had menu with no sound and never try that.

nope, its just a JPEG menu like I've used before, just can't figure out why when the menu is up the soundtrack for the movie plays in the background

sounds trange effectively.

Sorry to ask, but u r sure there is no authoring error, like, for example, you drag and drop the ac3 stream on the menu window and on the movie windows or something like that ?

Did you try to re-author from scratch to see if problem still occurs ? as you only have two buttons, it should not take too long.

Well Klona, I owe you cause that was it and it was driving me nuts. Apparently at some point I dropped an audio track on my menu by mistake. Under playback control I had an audio stream selected under audio stream, so thanks!
