MiniDV to Divx using Gordian Knott

Does anyone know how to convert a minidv avi file to divx 5.02 using Gordian Knott?
Is it possible to do it directly or perhaps by converting it to a vob file first???
Does anyone have any recommended settings to try and put a 2hr movie on one cd eg, resolution, bitrate, filters?
Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I don't know miniDV, but you mention that it's an .avi file you want to use as your input content.

The Gknot FAQ website has a guide for encoding from .avi files:

That particular guide is DivX3 based, but you can still use it for DivX5 encoding...
