My card (leadtek winfast tv2000xp) can capture to at least 640x480, but virtualdub only loads the default driver and doesn't let me capture above 320x240.
Is there a way to force it to load the right driver (doesn't currently display it in the drop down option) or force it to allow higher resolutions?
Thanks

Have you tried the "custom resolution" settings. The wdm drivers of my WinTV only allow up to 384x288, but with the custom settings mode, I can use any resolution I want with no problems.

Nope, still gives me the same error message. You are talking about the Video->Set Custom Format option, right?

what kind of error message do u get? sometimes there's a problem displaying the (possibly overlayed) image. you can try to disable overlay and preview (make shure none is checked) and set the resolution then. or you could try the generic btwincap driver from http://btwincap.sf.net

Yes, I was talking about that option (was at another computer and couldn't check for the correct name).
Have you tried different color formats? Not all of these work for me, I think only YUY2 and the RGB formats work correctly.
I also have to set the display mode to preview to capture.
