Did u use Internal routines or vStrip to rip the DVD? If not that might cause ur sync problems.

Also I would recommend that u download the latest DVD2SVCD as ur using an older beta version

which one causes the error?

Did u use Internal routines or vStrip to rip the DVD? If not that might cause ur sync problems.

I used dvd decryptor to rip the whole NTSC version of Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets, then used dvd2svcd with no ripping and the result is off sync by around 10 seconds.

The result also starts off with 3 warning screens first. I think this is the problem as the audio starts off right away. I will try to use ripping method this time. But which one is better to use? Internal, vstrip, or dvddecryptor plug-in?

I used dvd decryptor to rip the whole ISO or file mode?then used dvd2svcd with no rippingD2S must rip to get the information it needs to keep the encode in sync, allow chapter selection, detect warning banners, etc.. This is one of the reasons external rippers are not supported. In the several years I have used this program, I only encountered one dvd that the internal routines would not work correctly. I never use vstrip. In the rare case the internal routines did not get it right and I had to use any other ripper, it would be tylo's plug-in as he uses the correct modes in DVD Decrypter.

So the short of it is any use of any other rippers except the internal routines may give you problems and you use them at your own risk as they are unsupported by dvd2svcd (although it may work just fine). If you use DVD Decrypter in ISO mode and mount it you should still rip from it as if it were in your real dvd drive.

I ripped with dvd decryptor in file mode, selected all files, then used file mode in d2s: sync problem.
then I used rip mode in d2s on the same ripped files from dvd decryptor and everything is fine.
