How much stuff did you cut out?

DVD Stucture is very complicated, a lot of times even though the movie is in vob it will try to play other stuff like FBI warnings before playing the actual movie. In your case, you might have cut out all that stuff. Check "First Play PGC" in video_ts.ifo and change it to play root-menu of the titleset 5 before anything else. See, on your computer it might play fine, because it is not really picky, and if something is missing, it will just go to the next available thing. On stand alongs you have to be precise.

My advice, get CCE and just downsize the main movie, and never ever cut out the FBI screens, or don't just delete vobs and then ifo update it, never!!!

ok i didnt have to downsize the movie because it was small enough in the first place but i hd to get rid of the extras and stuff...see the menu works fine and the first play as well it freezes at the same spot at the begining of the movie aroun 5 mins into it

Five minutes into it...

Does it do it on your computer? If not, check and see if there is a layer brake at that spot. If on the original movie it went to the second side, it could cause that problem... Other than that, I don't know what to tell you... All my problems have usually been at the beginning. One more thing to try - rip one of the language streams, or subtitle streams out of it, IfoEdit will rewrite the vobs, I usually streap mine of anything other than eng 6 ch, and then I have no problems, since while it rips the languages it rewrites the vobs, and it still keeps the menues.

Also, did you click on get vts sectors?

If it plays O.K. in ifoedit, but freezes after 5 mins of the burnt film - I would say that it is either your media or the burn that is causing the problem.
The files must be present for it to play in Ifoedit. Have you done a get VTS Sectors? The menu layout must be O.K. as it goes into the film on the DVD and plays for the first 5 mins.
I would try it again & see what happens.
Happy Ripping.

its not the media becuase i rencoded the movie which i shouldnt have but this was hte only way i could think that would fix well anywas i rencoded using cce and reauthered using maestro and when i compiled back together with original menu and stuff ifo updated and the burnt the movie played fine....

so now i dont understand..why doent it freez when i rencode but when i dont and put the same file structure back that it does?
