@DSPGuru,
Thank you for your BeSweet and OggMachine.
I'm trying to transcode the 5.1 Ac3 into 5.1 Oggvorbis,
use the BeSweet (RC3) and OggMachine (0.5)...
but the result is not heard correctly...
the center channel sound is heard from the front right speaker.
The player is Winamp with the latest in_vorbis (v1.2) and
I also try use OggDropXPd with decode feature, the result
is the same... the center channel sound is heard from
the front right speaker.
Any suggestion ?
PS. I'm using Audigy with SB 5300 on Win98 SE.
I hope it's not SB driver bug :(
Thank you.

Hi again,
I think you know me already from that 'other' thread. Did you try to play your vorbis file in Windows Media Player? All I get in such a case is something like 'invalid format' (WinME, Audigy VXD driver 01/21/2002, OggDS 0.9.9.1). When I play that same file in Windows 2000 (SP2, Audigy WDM driver 10/26/2001, same OggDS) I get usually (when I'm lucky) something screwed up (speakers are mapped wrongly).
As far as I can say from my own experiments: This is a driver problem with the Creative Drivers. I even tried that 'unofficial' WDM driver published by Compaq in March of this year. There I get no sound at all. Compaq has recently released new drivers for the SoundBlaster Live! series and has announced new drivers for the Audigy cards end of August. Hopefully they'll fix some of that stuff, the card isn't really cheap and there are many other issues there that have to be fixed.
So long, maybe Dg can publish a comment on that (would be nice, you know you are our hero!).

btw, tiki4, ookzDVD, there's a big mess about channel mapping in vorbis :Originally posted by DSPguru
the standard (classic) channel mapping is : FL, FR, C, LFE, BL, BR.
currently, OggDs mapping is : FL, C, FR, BL, BR, LFE .
on the next version, it will be compatible to vakor's statement : FL, FR, C, BL, BR, LFE .

Thanks Dg for your answer,
I knew about the 'messed' up channel mapping and I also knew that thread you were pointing at, but there've also been quite a few people claiming they can actually play 6ch vorbis files. So I concluded it's got something to do with the drivers. There was a new release for the SB Live and someone claims that it works now for him. Take a look
here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29299&perpage=20&pagenumber=2) .
As Creative has also announced new drivers for the Audigy series for the end of August I'm very much looking forward to that. Actually it seems to be the same driver as for the Live series but comes with another installer (different upgrade path).

@DSPguru,
Thank you for the info.
@tiki4,
Thank you for the info for new audigy's driver.
Let's forget the Ogg Vorbis problem....
The only thing work for me for AVI-AC3 playback is using
the SPDIF out via the iviaudio.ax with the BSPlayer and
enabling the Audigy's Internal AC3 decoder.
The analog 5.1 playback setting works but with wrong
channels mapping :( ....I'm using the WinDVD 4.0 iviaudio.ax.
but.... if I play the Vob's file from the WinDVD....
the channel mapping is correct... hmmm... that's weird :(
:(
