Independence Day contains two versions of movie

I want to burn a DVD of one movie from the original disk which contains two versions of the movie. I've used DVDdecrypter to rip the full disk to my harddrive. Now how can I use Ifoedit & save only the VOB ID's that are required for only one version of the movie?

open the ifo relating to the film, and click vob extras. "remove seamless br." should be enabled. choose the length of the version you want in the poppup and it will save new vobs containing only the version you want

worked for me recently with the abyss, which also has 2 versions on it.

That appeared to work for Independence Day, but the file size seems way bigger than it still should, at over 6 GB. A little too big to backup on 1 cd.
