View Full Version : CCE breaks down at 40 %

Hi everyone,

i'm trying to convert stargate for about 10 times, cce always gives me an error message similiar to that: "time stamps of the last two passes are different." When I continue, cce resumes, but shuts down at 100% which is very frustrating.

I used 2-4 pass, no difference. Other DVD's work fine with cce, I encoded about 15 dvd's.
I just tried cbr - it worked, but the movie is about 2 hours long and the quality is poor. I also converted with tmpeg, also poor quality.

I tried the following: Raied luminance gain and offset, patched cce and used the avisynth-version (1.07) in one off the older threads - no success. Do I have to live with that, are some films impossible to encode with vbr?

BTW, I tried to use DVDX, it also failed (I used it for the first time).

How about using cce 2.6, could this be a solution?

Thanx and regards,

SB

Hi snakebyte72,

and welcome to the form. :)

Have you already tried to use the "MPEG2DEC2.DLL" in "Frameserver" tab? It comes with the bundle but is not selected as the default one. It seems to be more stable so you could try that also.

In general this is what you should try (best from 1. to 18.):

1. Don't overclock your CPU/memory.
2. Decrease the memory timings in your PC's BIOS.
3. Use the latest BIOS from your mainboard manufacturer.
4. Make sure your power supply and your PC cooling is good.
5. Use the latest chipset drivers from your mainboard manufacturer.
6. Do some stability tests like Prime95 and MemTest86.
7. Use "ResampleAudio(44100)" in your Avisynth script.
8. Turn off the "Anti noise filter" in CCE.
9. Make sure that the difference between "Max" and "Max.avg" in "Bitrate" tab is at least 120 kbit or even more.
10. Raise "Luminance Offset" in "DVD2AVI" tab.
11. Apply the CRC Patch from the Q&A (Q27).
12. Use the "MPEG2DEC2.DLL" instead of the "MPEG2DEC.DLL" in "Frameserver" tab.
13. Set "Intra DC precision" in "CCE Advanced" options to "8" or "Auto".
14. Turn off the VirtualDub "AVI Proxy mode" see "..\aviproxy" subdirectory "Readme.txt" for more on that.
15. When converting AVIs make sure with tools like "AviDefreezer" that they are not corrupted somehow.
16. Use the "Safe mode (frameserving)" option in "Encoder" tab but be aware that will decrease encoding speed by about 30%.
17. Only use "CBR" or "One pass VBR" modes only.
18. use TMPGEnc instead.

Hope this gives you some more options, ;)
Gerti

Edit: I have now added the missing points to the Q&A (Q60). ;)
